MDR Services has recently added an environmental services company focused on asbestos abatement and mold remediation. We are looking to hire 3 to 4 Certified Remediation Technicians.

The main responsibilities of this position are to:

1. Set up / Take down containments
2. Remove materials comprising of asbestos
3. Collect and dispose of all hazardous materials using outlined safety procedures
4. Check job sites and provide detailed follow-ups

The candidates should have the following skills:

1. Ability to work in a team environment
2. Understanding of the industry and area of service
3. Ability to take direction

The candidates must:

1. Be able to perform physically demanding tasks
2. Have a class 5 driver's license
3. Have their own steel-toed safety boots
4. Be available for on-call duty

We are looking to hire a lead technician who will report to the Emergency Services Manager and will have tasks specialized in selective demolition.

The role:

Reporting to the Emergency Services Manager, you will be responsible for:

1. Removing cabinets, counter tops, tubs, and showers that are to be saved and reused
2. Selectively demolishing high-end finishing
3. Identifying and detailing findings
4. Supervising helpers

The requirements:

1. 5+ years’ experience in construction or restoration. Combination of both will be considered
2. Experience in framing is an asset
3. Knowledge of load bearing walls is an asset
4. High attention to details
5. Excellent customer service skills
6. Good verbal and written communication skills
7. Good problem-solving and time-management skills
8. Ability to work unsupervised and in a team; and know when to ask for help or direction
9. IICRC Certifications

The candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. Clear security check
2. Class 5 driver’s license
3. Own steel-toed safety boots
4. Availability to be on-call and overtime

The Responsibilities:

1. Manage different types of projects and scopes
2. Ensure that project requirements are done within time and budget
3. Meet or surpass profit objectives for each project
4. Develop and manage project budgets
5. Develop precise cost estimates in all restoration projects for insurance companies and insured by using Xactimate software
6. Supervise Project Manager Assistants, Project Management Coordinators, sub-contractors and other project employees
7. Carry out site inspections
8. Evaluate damages from insurance claims and create a scope of work
9. Communicate respectfully and actively with customers, insurance adjusters and sub-contractors
10. Prepare any documents required by insurance companies
11. Carry out business development such as developing relationships with customers, and insurance adjusters
12. Enforce MDR Services processes and procedures
13. Ensure that safety programs, processes and policies put into place by MDR Services and by the law are enforced on sites and within the office

The Qualifications & Skills:

1. Experience in the restoration industry as a Project Manager or in a managerial position
2. Ability to manage several projects, employees and sub-contractors at the same time
3. Work well in a fast-paced, stressing setting, and under tight deadlines
4. Great communication and negotiation skills
5. Extremely organized and detailed-oriented
6. Highly customer-focused

10. Valid Driver License
